The company under the leadership of Ing. Petr Chlup installed brand new laser technology offered by Masterwork. Model LC330R went to Dolní Bojanovice to the company Lelka s.r.o. None of us could have guessed what complications would arise as the Covid-19 disease spread across the world. Due to safety measures, borders slowly began to close, but our shipment from the company MasterWork still managed to arrive safely.
They chose this laser mainly because of its modern technology, which allows a significant increase in production speed and thus a more flexible response to customer demand. The speed-up applies in every respect, for example order changes, changes to graphic processing, no waiting for the production of a die-cutting form, and other steps that are needed and take time.
Another undeniable advantage is storing die-cutting formats in digital form. This means there is no need to manufacture, store, repair, or adapt die-cutting forms, which wear out mechanically over time. This machine cuts with a laser, so there is no risk whatsoever of blade wear. Introducing new orders or minor graphic modifications is a simple matter after training. The versatility of the laser is great, so it can cut, cut stickers, and perforate labels of all shapes. On the laser you can set the frequency, duration, and cutting speed. These three values influence one another, and thanks to such detailed adjustment, it is possible to cut very precisely according to customer needs. Saving laser settings for each material is a matter of course. The machine is controlled by a standard computer, which can also be connected to the company network. In this way, the operator can download various graphic formats for production.

But then, what nobody wanted, Covid-19 arrived in the Czech Republic, the first patients appeared, and people's concerns grew, including among Mr. Lelka's employees. That is why we moved the laser and installed it in our premises in Blansko. There, 14 days of training for our technicians took place, along with acceptance tests of the machine under the supervision of technicians from Masterworks laser. Unfortunately, the virus spread in the South Moravian Region at almost the same rate as in Prague. To eliminate the risk of infection, Mr. Lelka, like other companies in the region, temporarily closed the company at his own expense. We take our hats off to such a quick step taken in the interest of his employees' safety, at the cost of profit. There aren't many managements like that. The training covered proper installation, maintenance, a training procedure for future operators, and much more.
After thoroughly training our employees, we agreed with Mr. Lelka on transporting the laser and will train under maximum precautions. Fortunately, Covid-19 had already weakened and people's concerns were no longer so severe. The operators praised the modernization of the process, its simplicity, and above all its speed.
